Given their backgrounds, RIDE is Robyn and Italo’s creation and their way to give back by combining their complementary business and dance backgrounds for a greater cause.

Spark Conference 2021 - Thrive Justice School
EVERY YEAR
- 2,500 families receive fresh food, toys and books
- 4 days, 4 nights
- 2,000 volunteers give their time
- 12,500 people fed
Each year our Holiday Food Program provides Christmas food baskets, toys and books to 2,500 families (12,500 people) living in poverty in the Los Angeles area. All of the families are referred through the Head Start Program and meet federal and state mandated poverty levels.
Our Holiday Food Program is dependent on the support and involvement of people living within our community. Last year, over 2,000 volunteers come together at the Barker Hangar to sort and package the food during the week before the actual giveaway, and most importantly, are on hand at our various Head Start distribution centers to personally give out the food with a sense of caring and family involvement.
Living in poverty is especially hard during the holidays when there are no resources to make the holiday special. The food, toys, books and celebration provided by the One Voice volunteers bring much needed hope to families living in poverty that lasts well beyond the holiday season.

Second Harvest Food Bank
Our team at Second Harvest Food Bank of Orange County has been laser focused and strategically planning for the anticipated spread of Coronavirus / COVID-19 since late February. We conducted a mandatory all staff or “all hands” meeting and conference call on March 2nd. We were joined by several pantry members and our public relations team as this began the mobilization of our crisis planning and communication process.
Our management team, along with specialists comprised of some 20+ individuals, have been meeting daily since 3/9 to work our plan and prepare for what is now very real; the closure of public schools and the economic impact of business closures and social distancing. We have the good fortune of having an Emergency Management Consultant volunteering his time and available for our daily “COVID-19 Update” huddles moving forward.
Simply put, we need funding to purchase truckloads of shelf-stable food. Spread the word among family, friends and co-workers as every dollar counts during this crisis. We are counting on our community banding together to make sure that all Orange County residents are well nourished and have the best chance of making it through the weeks ahead. Click here to donate.
